Building Muscle Over 40

Can you build muscle after 40?

Q. I'm over 40, and I have heard that you can't gain much muscle if you are over the age of 40. Is this really true? Can I still build muscle or is it too late?

A. It's not true! In fact during the Colorado experiment, Arthur Jones gained 15.44 pounds of muscle in 22 days. He was 47 years old at the time. The way he did it was by using high intensity training, which balances hard work along with enough rest and recovery for muscle growth even after 40.

I strongly suggest you get the HITMAN High Intensity Training Manual, it has the best muscle building workouts for people over 40.

Another factor effecting muscle growth and fat loss is testosterone. Testosterone levels usually peak in our late teens or early twenties and then decline as we age, but it's possible to raise those levels back to almost peak for even someone 40, 50, 60 or more. There are some natural herbal supplements such as Andro-Shock which can increase testosterone production in the body. This can help you build muscle, lose fat and increase your libido, etc.
