Bodybuilding Muscle Soreness


Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness Treatment

During the course of any athletic activity, you may experience some minor aches and pains. So, you'll probably have some muscle soreness after your bodybuilding workouts, especially if you're trying to make major improvements in a short amount of time.

You can minimize this soreness by doing some light stretching after your workout.

A warm bath or sauna will also help. This type of pain should go away in a day or so.

However, remember that your elbows, shoulders, knees and lower back are involved in many weight-training exercises. If you experience joint or tendon soreness, you may be trying to do too much too soon. Ease up on your training for a while and make sure that you are performing your exercises correctly. You could also work around the injury by not training a particular body part until the soreness disappears.

Minor joint and tendon soreness can be treated with hot and cold compresses, an Ace bandage for support, sport cream and light massage.

If the soreness persists or grows worse, immediately stop your training and seek medical advice.
