Bodybuilding Food Cravings

How to stick to your bodybuilding diet

When a food craving hits you, first distinguish whether it is based on real dietary need or psychological impulse. If you're eating a balanced meal/snack every 3-4 hours and still experiencing cravings, then you can usually determine that it's psychologically based. Emotional problems, work stress and outside triggers, like drippy burger commercials are common initiators of food cravings. Suddenly the "I've gotta have something...quick" feeling hits you and you're likely to eat too fast and too much of the wrong thing.

Here's a few tips to help you deal with your craving culprit.

EAT SLOWLY: Eat your regular meals and forbidden treats slowly, chewing deliberately allowing your food to dissolve in your mouth. You're more likely to feel satisfied more quickly with less food.

ALLOW ALL FOODS: Don't completely eliminate anyone type of treat, The minute you do, you will mentally set yourself up for some huge cravings.

GET ENOUGH SLEEP: Studies have shown that people which lack proper sleep tend to overeat. This is probably due to trying to make up for their lack of energy by eating more.

EAT/SNACK REGULARLY: Don't go beyond 3-4 hours without a snack or meal. Extended periods without food make it nearly impossible to control your appetite properly.
