Bodybuilding Anabolic Steroids Information

What are Steroids?

Anabolic steroids are man made drugs that mimic testosterone. Steroids, when used correctly, can help those who NEED it. For those who's bodies don't produce testosterone in a normal way, steroids can give them a better life. AIDS patients benefit greatly from steroids, it helps increase their appetite, lowers the pain level, and helps build up thier muscles.

Unfortunately, many people are not taking these for the right reasons. At first it was seen in body builders, then on rare occasions an athlete, now, they are everywhere. This includes being used by kids in middle school who are being taught that "being the best" is more important than having a healthy body. There are so many negative side effects when taking steroids, especially to young growing bodies.

Bodybuilding Steroid Side Effects

I will start with the physical side effects. Baldness, breast growth in males, breast reduction in females, acne, shrunken testicles and growth of facial hair on women. Next comes the more serious ones. Liver and kidney damage or failure, blood clots, heart attacks, and/or strokes. If you aren't killed by the steroids you may end up with psychological complications such as hallucinations and delusions, aggressive behavior, and/or manic behavior. These side effects mainly come about because of the serious misuse of steroids. A person tries them out, then they cycle (take them in on/off cycles), and when that isn't good enough they stack (take different steroids together) and the final step is combining those.

Bodybuilding without Steroids

Strong, buff, strong and sexy are many reasons why anabolic steroids are taken. Of course, a bald, infertile man lying in a bed with kidney and liver damage is kind of the opposite of what they would be trying to achieve. Our bodies are perfectly created machines with all the parts needed to run smoothly. Men and women produce testosterone in their bodies, it helps absorb protein which in turn helps to build muscle.

There is a healthy way to reach your goals. Hard work in the gym mixed with the right nutrition. Cardio will build your heart muscles which will burn your fat. Combine a very strenuous cardio workout with a challenging muscle building routine and you can have that chiseled look. The main ingredient that can't be overlooked though is a healthy diet. If you aren't healthy you can't work out! So love yourself and your body and ditch those steroids!
